Kool Utility Vehicle. It is pronounced as K-U-V One-Double-O. Mahindra seems
to continue the trend of using Alpha numeric name like XUV500 &
recently launched TUV300.
KUV300 will compete with
Hyndai Grand i10, Fordo Figo, Maruti Swift, Renault Kwid etc. For the
first time Mahindra introducing a a Petrol car! The 1.2 litre G80 MPFI
engine is expected to produce 82 BHP.
On the other hand
the all new diesel engine - mFalcon D75 is a 1.2-litre turbocharged
common rail diesel engine. The new oil burner is capable of producing
77bhp and a peak torque of 190Nm and gets BS IV emission rating. Both
the engines will come mated to a manual gearbox with no current plans
for an AMT unit.
Both diesel & petrol options comes
with 4 variants namely K2, K4, K6 & K8. Optional + (plus) version
is available with airbag which is indeed good feature.
